2026 Annual Meeting Session Types and Modalities

Session Types

Paper Sessions

An 80-minute paper session includes a series of 4-5 individual 15-minute presentations followed by an optional discussion. Virtual paper sessions will only take place in a Zoom meeting room, while Streamed or Hybrid sessions will be assigned both physical and Zoom rooms. Session organizers need a computer that can join a Zoom meeting and run a presentation simultaneously, in addition to handling both online and in-person questions. In-person organizers will be provided with a projector and screen, sound system, wireless connection, and technical support.

Panel Sessions

An 80-minute panel session consists of 4-6 participants examining a topic followed by questions from audience members. There are no formal presentations or abstracts. Virtual panel sessions occur in a Zoom meeting room, while Streamed or Hybrid sessions have both physical and Zoom rooms. Session organizers need a computer that can handle Zoom meetings and presentations simultaneously, and they must address online and in-person questions. In-person organizers will be provided with a projector and screen, sound system, wireless connection, and technical support.

Poster Sessions

80-minute in-person poster sessions allow for informal browsing with opportunities for individual discussion with poster authors. Presenters will be supplied with a 4’ x 8’ landscape-oriented poster board. A digital file of their poster should be uploaded to the session gallery to view before and after the meeting.

Session Modalities

AAG allows in-person session organizers to hold streamed or hybrid sessions, with recording options. Organizers hosting a virtual or hybrid session are responsible for technical arrangements, including streaming Zoom on a provided laptop. If you choose this option, confirm that you and your presenters understand the technical limitations that might occur during these sessions.

In-Person
Presentations, panel discussions, or other session activities occur in-person with an in-person audience. There is no online component for in-person sessions.

Hybrid
Presentations, panel discussions, or other session activities occur both in-person and virtually with both an in-person and virtual audience. Organizers hosting a hybrid session are responsible for technical arrangements, including streaming Zoom on a provided laptop, and facilitating Q&A from both in-person and virtual attendees.

Streamed
Presentations, panel discussions, or other session activities occur in-person with an in-person audience and is viewable by virtual attendees. All hybrid and virtual sessions are considered streamed.

Virtual
Presentations, panel discussions, or other session activities occur virtually with a virtual audience. There is no in-person component for virtual sessions.

Session Recording
The recording of sessions is at the discretion of the session organizer with permission from session participants. Session participants who do not wish to be recorded are responsible for discussing this with the session organizer in advance so that they may make the appropriate arrangements.

Recorded sessions will be available to view by registered attendees for up to 90 days after the end of the annual meeting. After 90 days, the recordings will be permanently deleted. Recordings are not available for download and sharing recordings on other platforms is prohibited.
